My name is Steve Thomas, and I am running for the West Virginia House of Delegates in District 9. I am proud to have the opportunity to ask for your support and the chance to represent our district.

I live in Friendly, West Virginia, where I currently serve as Mayor. Since 2023, our community has worked together to get real results. As a team, we have removed five unsafe and dilapidated buildings, improved storm drainage, and helped change city leadership terms from two years to four years to provide better continuity. We are also building a Veterans Park, scheduled to be dedicated this June, and have made important improvements to the interior and exterior of our Community Building.

As a candidate for the House of Delegates, my priorities include repealing the Certificate of Need, improving water, sewer, and road infrastructure, supporting agriculture, expanding veterinary care and animal welfare, and honoring our veterans.

I believe passing laws is not enough. We must follow through and fund what we pass. A law without action is a broken promise. The government must be accountable, especially when bills meant to help farmers and veterans go unfunded for years.

As your representative, I will listen to you, work with you, and fight wasteful spending so tax dollars are used where they matter most. I will also support local governments, because they know their communities best.
