Elks Name Teens of the Month
Sistersville Elks Lodge named Aleah Fletcher and Justin Fluharty as the month of November Teenager’s of the Month.
Aleah Fletcher is the daughter of Brandy & Shane Murray and Scott Fletcher. She is a 4.04 GPA student at Tyler Consolidated High School. Her activities include being a waitress at Boggs Pizza and Grill as well as being an employee of the Barn at Woodridge. Aleah’s Honors and Awards consist of honor roll, early college program student at WVUP (West Virginia Unitversity Parkersburg), faithful attendance, lettered in Academics, Peoples Bank Top 15% Banquet, state finalist for FBLA competition, Deans List at WVUP, Senior Homecoming Court. She is a member of SADD, FBLA, NHS, STARS and holds the office of President in SADD, and STARS. She is Vice President in FBLA. She volunteers her time and has completed community service at Saturday Recess, Trunk or Treat, Indian Creek Southern Baptist Church VBS, Middlebourne Youth League Concessions, and is a TCMS Tutor. Aleah Fletcher plans to attend WVUP to become a Special Education Teacher.
Justin Fluharty, son of Ginger Fluharty is a 4.0 GPA student at Tyler Consolidated High School. Justin’s activities include We The People. He is a member of NHS, FBLA, and SADD. His honors include Lettering in Academics, We The People District I Champions, and Unit six Champion. He hold the office of Vice President in the NHS-National Honor Society, office of Secrtetary in SADD- Students Against Drunk Driving, and is a We The People Team Member.
The Sistersville Elks Lodge #333 Teenager’s for the month of December were Kate Gorrell and Ezra Reed.
Kate Gorrell, the daughter of Carrie & Steve Gorrell is a 4.5GPA student attending Tyler Consolidated High School. Her activities include Cross Country. Her honors and awards include Governor’s honor Academy, WVUP Dean’s List, Top 15% Academic Banquet, Letter in Academics, Letter in Cross Country, and Honor Roll. She holds organizational memberships in NHS, NAHS,4-H, and Sistersville United Methodist Church. Gorell holds the offices of Treasure of NAHS, Chaplin of NHS, 4-H Health Ambassador, and is the Team Captain in Cross Country. She volunteers her time and has completed community service in the areas of donations to clubs, through the Sistersville First United Methodist Church she is a willing worker of projects, faith hands, Breakfast and Closet, the Backpack Program, Shoebox Operation Christmas Child, and service projects through 4-H.
Ezra Reed, son of Steve and Ramie Reed is a 4.0 GPA student attending Tyler Consolidated High School. His activites include TCHS Gold team, piano student, pottery/ art student, honors college advanced placement coursework, the use of Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and After Effects. His most recent activiteis include vistis to colleges and trade schools. He is looking forward to an upcoming visit to Fairmont State Aviation Center of Excellance. Reed’s honors and awards are honor roll, State and National competition in Washington, D.C for Engineering with TSA, TCHS We The People: The Citizen and Constitution team- Congreational District I hearings champion, WV State hearings competitor; featured in CIVIL (docuseries on the We The People program), Sistersville Elks Lodge #333 Sr. Teenager of December 2021, postion of Mature Leadership via the responsibility required for Management of Personal Online Marketing/ Sales and Maintenance of persona Finances, also he is currently exploring setting up his own LLC. His organizational memberships include TSA, TCHS Excalibur Yearbook, SADD, FBLA. His volunteer work and Community services works consist of cemetery maintenance and clean up, roadside garbage clean up, diabetes Awareness, TCHS soccer event, trunk or treat community events, Tyler County Fair and Regatta concessions, Events sign design, set up, sales, clean up, and various church activities. Reed is a christian and active member at the Shirley United Methodist Church, he likes studying history of the world and foreign ultures, computer technology, movies, and music. He also enjoysd learning new things.
