First Responders to be Honored at 9/11 20th Anniversary Parade and Ceremony

On September 11, 2021, the New Martinsville Fire Department, City of New Martinsville, Wetzel County Commission, Wetzel-Tyler Chamber of Commerce, and West Virginia Northern Community College would like to invite you to a special 9/11 parade and ceremony to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.

At 6 p.m. there will be a Parade of Emergency Vehicles from many of the local agencies. Starting at the corner of McEldowney Avenue and Main Street to Harlan Drive.

The public is encouraged to come out and stand along the parade route to let them know they are appreciated.

At 7:30 p.m. there will be a Ceremony to Honor and Remember: Food will be free to the first responders. and available for purchase for others. It will be held on the lawn area by WV Northern Community College and Harlan Drive.

We the above mentioned enities value the opportunity to show the appreciation to our first responders and encourage others in the community to be involved as well. Bring your lawn chairs and join us.

RSVP is requested but not required: Rain location will be at Bruce Park.
