Paden City Labor Day Celebration to Mark 73rd Year

Full Slate of Activities for the Whole Family

Main Street is packed at the Paden City Labor Day Celebration

Paden City will be alive and hopping over labor day weekend as the annual Labor Day Celebration kicks off it’s 73rd year. All music performances this year have been changed from Main Street to the main stage at the city park.

There will be live performances each day with music starting on Friday evening September 3, when the ever popular Davisson Brothers takes to the stage for a two hour show beginning at 7 p.m.

Saturday music begins at 2 p.m. with Sugar Buzz bringing the sounds with a two hour performance. This is a good local band you don’t want to miss. Following them at 4:30 – 6 p.m. will be another local group “Half Cracked” who will play all your favorites from the 60’s and 70’s. Topping off the schedule for the evening will be Mars Alley with an hour and a half of all time favorites. The show begins at 8 p.m. and ends at 9:30.

Sunday get ready for a great mix of music as Honkey Tonk Sweethearts bring your favorite country hits with a 2 p.m. performance. At 3:30 Rim Shot will be blasting out some sounds sure to please the crowd as they put on an hour and a half performance followed by Brad Malone at 5 p.m. Rapping things up on Sunday will be Rick K Road Trip starting at 7:30 and ending when the crowds ready to go home.

Labor day September 6, will be a fun filled day around town as folks from far and near crowd Rt. 2, for the annual Labor Day Parade which features high school bands and athletic teams, floats, politicians, businesses, churches, scout troops, police, emergency vehicles, fire trucks and of course some of the best union workers in the country. Labor of every trade will be in attendance as the community celebrates workers of all kinds.

Also on tap for Monday will be the annual 5-K fun run starting at 8 a.m. at the high school. Line up for the parade will be at the south end of town by the REM building. Parade entrants are asked to be there no later than 12:30.

Following the parade fun will resume at the park with inflatables for the kids on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 2 -8 p.m. Wrist bands will be sold daily at the park. Food vendors at the park will include the Paden City Volunteer Fire Co. food trailer. The Paden City American Legion Auxiliary Unit 86 will be selling food during the music performances.

Monday’s music line up is another dandy with Remedy taking the stage to start things off at 2 p.m. they will be followed by longtime labor day performer DeWayne Spaw at 4:45. Closing the celebration down on Monday night will be all time great Jimmy Fortune who will thrill the crowd with some of his own famous hits. Be sure to make your way to the park for this great day of fun and music. Come early and stay late.
