On August 2, New Martinsville Mayor Sandy Hunt along with City Council declared ArtsLink Day. For the past twenty years, ArtsLink has worked to bring art, culture and entertainment into our community. As part of their celebration, a free concert was held at the Lincoln Theater on August 5th.

That show also celebrated Johnny Joe Mensore’s 83rd birthday. Mensore has been a long time support of ArtsLink and has regularly entertained over the years.

The main entertainment for the evening anniversary celebration was Mensore’s long time friend and professional entertainer, Ken McBride (Himself).

McBride brought to the stage a mix of his home country’s Irish music along with more traditional music from America. The event was free and cake was served.
