Paden City Alumni 2021 Gather For Events At The High School
Saturday night July 3, 2021, Alumni, family and friends of Paden City High School gathered at the school grounds for good food, fellowship and to catch up on old times. Also on the tab for the evening were two very important events for Wildcat fans as they honored the past members of the high school who are no longer with us and and have passed on.
It is with sad hearts each year that we remember these lost love ones from our past and school history. Giving remarks during the service was Alumni President Shawna Yoho.
Following the memorial service the Alumni presented the distinguished alumni award to two honorees with Scott Nichols of the class of 1981 receiving the award for 2021 and Van Slider of the class of 1970 receiving the award for 2020 (which was cancelled from last year due to COVID-19). Presenting the awards was Rodney McWilliams of the Paden City Foundation.
Food trucks were set up on the high school grounds and music was played for all to enjoy, the weather was beautiful with temperatures in the low 70’s. A car show was held in the school parking lot with several Alumni displaying their vehicles. Leading up to Saturday evenings activities was a baseball clinic at the high school field Saturday morning. The clinis was held by Distinguished Alumni Nichols a former Wildcat and major leaguer.
Class reunions for held on Friday July 2, with various classes from 1961 through 2021 meeting in locations throughout the area. According to Alumni organizers everything went off as planned with a good time had by all and planes are already in the works for next year.
Long live Paden City High School and “Once a Wildcat always a Wildcat.”
