EQT Donates $10K For Local Entrepreneurs
The Wetzel-Tyler Chamber ofCommerce is thrilled to once again partner with the independent natural gas producer, EQT Corporation, to advance entrepreneurship in and around Wetzel and Tyler Counties. EQT has generously provided a grant of $10,000.00 for the Chamber to use for education and to provide capital to new and existing small business owners.
The largest part of the grant will go towards providing funds to either start new businesses or add new lines to existing business.
To receive a portion of these funds, entrepreneurs are encouraged to enter the annual Entrepreneur Pitch event to be held this fall. This event will provide an opportunity for entrants to present their business ideas to the community. A community vote will then decide what projects get funded.
The remaing money will be used to partner with West Virginia Northern Community College (WVNCC) to provide educational programs to help citizens learn the skills needed to open and manage their own businesses. Similar classes have been offered in the past, and thanks to this grant from EQT, it has been offered at no cost to those who attend.
Those interested in getting part of this money to help make their business idea become a reality or might be interested in attending some of these classes should contact the Chambers office at 132 North St in New Martinsville.
The Chamber office is open 9AM -4PM Monday-Friday. The office phone number is (304) 455-3825 or you can email Office@WetzelCountyChamber.com to get more details about these programs.
The Chamber would like to thank EQT for their continued interest in improving our community. Our area is fortunate to have community minded partners like EQT that value the people and resources we bring to the table.
