Memorial Day, which may serve as the unofficial start of the summer season in Paden City, has a greater meaning to most local residents. Since the early days of our country following the Civil War, small towns just like ours across this great land have gathered to honor those men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service for our country.

Paden City Park served as the gathering spot for those residents wishing to take part in the traditional service of laying wreaths and displaying flags.

Chuck Laugh and Donna Peters were each recognized for their support with gifts of an American Flag and Home of the Free Because of the Brave Quilts.
