Spring Fever in Full Swing At Sistersville City Park

By Randy Rutherford - Staff Writer | Apr 2, 2021

New youth swings complete with chains were recently installed at the city park. The swings were gracious donated and installed by Davis Athletics, LLC of Parkersburg, WV. John Davis, owner and CEO of Davis Athletics, explained he read an article in the Tyler Star News about the park board wanting to purchase new swings as a continuing effort to make needed improvements at the park. Mr. Davis contacted the city building and shared his intentions, and the rest is history. Members of the park board wish to express their gratitude to Davis Athletics for the new swings. With the recent warm weather many kids have already had the chance to use them.

Also returning to the park after several month’s absence, are the spring rider toy horses, each complete with a fresh new paint job. The horses, along with the spring rider wolf and spring rider motorcycle, are ready to welcome small children and carry them as far as their imaginations can take them! The new hand painted finishes were completed and donated by park board member, Mary Ann Rutherford.

In other park and pool news, the board is conducting interviews for a Park and Pool Manager for the 2021 season. The position does not require life guard certification. Interested parties may apply by visiting the Sistersville City web page at www.cityofsistersville.com and click on the Park and Pool 2021 button to fill out an online application.
