Creeks Rise Following Four Inches of Rain
Steady rain early Sunday morning and throughout the day February 28, caused creeks and streams to rise out of their banks, covering yards and entering homes in low lying places.
Indian Creek Road was covered in several places and impassable, while Rt. 23, also was submersed in high water. No injuries were reported, but some minor damage and inconvenience occurred as a result of four plus inches of rain that fell causing the steady rise in water.
Although the Ohio River never breached it’s banks it did send some water into low lying area and cover the transit docks in Sistersville.
