Ptl. Gavin Corley Graduates From The Academy

Patrolman Gavin Corley successfully completed and graduated from the West Virginia State Police Academy with the 183rd Basic Class.

Corley joined the Sistersville Police Department in December 2019, following in his father and granfather’s footsteps. Having completed his required training, he becomes a third-generaation law enforcement officer.

Ptl. Corley is a 2018 graduate of Tyler Consolidated High School. He is the son of Mitch and Jonay Corley of Sistersville and the grandson of Delegate David and Jan Kelly of Pursley and Bo and Sue Hause of Sistersville.

The West Virginia State Police has a long tradition of providing training for law enforcement professionals. The State Police maintains a training facility commonly known as “the Academy” which is situated on approximately 24 acres in Institute, WV. From this location, the Academy serves the entire state of West Virginia as a training and conference center for the law enforcement community.
