Tyler County Commission Holds Regular Session Meeting

The Tyler Co Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Nov 10 at 9 AM. Items discussed included temporary vs full time status for a Security Guard, Sign Mitigation Agreement, E-911 Project, Insurance Policy, and the construction contract for the Judicial Building.

Following the Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance, the meeting opened with approval of the minutes from October 20, Exonerations from Tyler Co Assessor Lisa Jackson, and the Fiduciary Report from Co Clerk Neil A. Archer II.

Next up was Sheriff Brian Weigle discussing the need for one of the Security Guards to move from full time to part time for 90 days and the need for additional temporary security guards. He also brought before the commissioners a request for new vest carriers.

Commissioners asked Sheriff Weigle to present them with a quote at the next meeting.

Tom Cooper was not present so the Sign Mitigation Agreement was tabled until the next meeting.

President John Stender was present via the phone and the following items were discussed.

The Encroachment Permit Application for the E-911 Project was approved.

A change in the Nationwide Policy and the Risk Pool Accident Coverage to include the Search and Rescue Team and Emergency Response Team was also approved.

Next up was a discussion to approve the Lombardi Contract for the Tyler E-911 Center.

Luke Furbee, Prosecuting Attorney, had reviewed the contract and recommended approval. The motion was made and seconded and the contract was approved.

Under Public Comment, nothing was presented to the commissioners.

The commissioners then went into Executive Session to discuss the McKindley Contract for construction of the Judicial Building. Following the Executive Session the commissioners approved the payment of bills and the meeting was adjourned.

The next meeting of the Tyler County Commission will be held on November 24 at 9AM
