Ferry Officially Open For Business

By Staff | Jul 8, 2020

The Sistersville Ferry makes a trip across the river carrying a load of vehicles.

The Sistersville Ferry opened for the first day of the 2020 season on Thursday, July 2, with Captain Bo Hause at the wheel.

Many residents are excited for the reopening of the historical boat, not only because of the background, but also for the convenience. The Ferry saves a significant amount of time for motorists traveling, as the landing is in Fly, Ohio. For only $4, a car, pickup, or even a semi, can travel across the river on the Ferry.

Those on foot can ride the Ferry with a round-trip only costing $1.

The Ferry is open Thursday and Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
