Tyler FFA Greenhouse To Open Tomorrow

By Staff | Apr 22, 2020

A few of the several flowers and plants the FFA Greenhouse will have available tomorrow on opening day.

The Tyler FFA Greenhouse is set to open Thursday, April 23. However, as with most everything, business will not be as usual.

The Greenhouse is set to be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Monday’s are set aside as a senior shopper day for those shoppers over 65.

Social distancing will be enforced, and only one customer will be allowed in a greenhouse at a time. Agricultural teacher, Annie Hall, reports customers will be taking numbers to determine shopping order. Additionally, they will be accepting cash or check payments only in an outdoor setting.

Hall reported hanging baskets and mixed containers will be ready upon opening.

However, if you’re looking for vegetable plants and bedding plants, they will be available closer to the frost free date around May 15.

For those who are uncomfortable shopping in person, Hall reports accommodations can be made for curbside pickup by contacting them via Facebook or email at “mailto:lahall@k12.wv.us”>lahall@k12.wv.us.

Although business is sure to be different this year during the pandemic, Hall says they owe thanks to the Board of Education and Superintendent for allowing the Greenhouses to be open. “We’d like to thank the Board of Education and Superintendent for allowing us to be open so the product doesn’t go to waste,” said Hall.
