P.C. Public Library Has More to Check Out than Just Books

Paden City Library offers various adult craft programs.

Come to Paden City Public Library, where there is so much more to check out than just books!

Whether one is searching for a book club, a Yoga class, a place to participate in game and craft nights, or a place to print off a document, there is something for everybody here.

Paden City Library offers a large variety of activities for locals including various Summer Reading Programs for children and young adults, Preschool Story Hour, Yoga for all ages, adult craft programs, book clubs, game nights, Smithsonian Traveling Exhibits, local author book signings, seasonal children’s programs such as pumpkin decorating and creating Christmas ornaments, following the Iditarod, and movie/documentary evenings.

The library can also be a place to gather for awards or meetings. Patrons can stop by to read the local newspapers and popular magazines, use the internet/computers, print and or fax things (a small fee applies to these two), have documents notarized, and check out books as well as DVDs, audio, and large print books, and even e-books at no charge!

Paden City Public Library recently announced some exciting, upcoming events, and locals should mark their calendars.

Beginning in February and lasting through the entire month, Paden City Library will be hosting a poster exhibition of Wold War I: Lessons and Legacies. This traveling exhibit is provided by The Smithsonian Institution and the National Museum of American History and will be available for viewing throughout the month. Locals are urged to stop by to explore the often overlooked aspects of Americans’ role in the war and many of the innovations, complexities, and contradictions of a post-war world. It was also said that there is no need to register; just stop by to enjoy the display during operating hours.

Another event being held is the aforementioned Pre-School Story Hour 2020. This event begins Friday, February 7 at 12:00 Noon and continues every Friday through April 24 for ages zero to five. There will be stories, songs, games, snacks, and crafts. There is no charge, but please register your child by calling 304-337-9333.

Lasting from February 11 until March 17, beginning at 5:30 every Tuesday is Yoga with Instructor Becky Bailey. These six weeks are being sponsored by the library so they are FREE and all ages can attend!

On February 10, the library will hold a class for visitors ages 15 and up to make Valentine Gnomes! This event will be held Monday, February 10 at 4:30 p.m. at the library. There is no charge, but please call the library at 304-337-9333 to register.
