Ruth Wells

On September 7, 2019, family and friends are invited to celebrate Ruth Wells’ 100th birthday. The reception will be held at the Oxford St. Church of Christ in Sistersville. The hours are 2:00 to 4:00.

Ruth, along with her twin brother, Robert, were born on September 5, 1919 in Tyler County. Their parents were William and Chloe Hartman. The family eventually had twelve children. The boys were Gene, Ed, Clarence, Robert, Roy, Norman, and Clyde Hartman. Sisters included Gert Rogers, Sara Hoover, Louise Holtsclaw, and Evelyn Koran. All but Ruth and Clyde are deceased.

Ruth married Glen Wells in 1946. They lived in Sistersville for most of their married life. In her early years, she worked at Paden City Pottery and later worked as a cook at Sistersville General Hospital. Ruth was a very active member of Stepping Stones for Ohio Valley University. She loved her church family and has spent her life helping others. She is the mother of Arlen (Marsha) Wells, Nancy (Paul) Inman, and Richard Wells, deceased. Her grandchildren include Ethan and Eli Wells, Jennifer (Alan) Martin, Joel Inman, and Stephanie (Brent) Flinn. Great grandchildren are Landon Wells, Alexa and Tempe Inman, Benjamin, Luke, Daniel, and Jacob Martin, Braeden and Lillie Hamilton, and Jade Flinn.

In 2014, Ruth moved to 55 Brambury Court, Washington, WV 26181. She would love to receive cards. We are also filling a memory jar, if you would like to include a special memory you have of Ruth.

Please omit gifts.
