The Sistersville American Legion Post 67 hosted a flag disposal ceremony, honoring those flags which are no longer servicable. The U.S. Flag Code states that when a flag has served it’s useful purpose and is no longer servicable, it should be disposed of in a dignified way. Many Legions hold these solemn ceremonies close to Flag Day. Several members of the community gathered as the retired flags were properly disposed of.
