Reward Offered for Information On 2016 Burglary, Assault
Tyler County officials are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a 2016 burglary and assault. The reward is being offered by the authority of the Tyler County Prosecuting Attorney and the Tyler County Commission.
According to an announcement posted on the “Tyler County, West Virginia Prosecuting Attorney” Facebook page, the crime occurred in January of 2016 at the residence of Paul and Janice Wells, located on Oil Ridge Road in Tyler County.
Those with information are urged to contact Detective Sergeant Scott Dalyrmple at the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office, at 304-758-4229. All contacts will be kept confidential “to the extent permitted by law,” the announcement reads.
According to previous published reports, the burglary happened at 1:45 a.m. on January 16, 2016. Paul and Janice were 88 and 83 at the time of the armed invasion. Though the injuries were not life-threatening, the two had reportedly sustained head injuries from the assault.
