Tyler LEPC Holds Meeting
Several grant items were discussed on Thursday, Dec. 6 at Tyler County’s monthly LEPC meeting. Director Tom Cooper spoke to members and guests about recent grant business, including a breathing air compressor – which is to be shipped in mid-December. Cooper said the trailer for the compressor is ready, and his office will be making a switch from another trailer. He also said the Search and Rescue (SAR) Training Grant is on schedule to be finished by the end of the month.
The 2016 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) reimbursement request has been sent to the state, and the 2017 EMPG will be submitted next week. Cooper told Sheriff Brian Weigle that ERB Electric reported the new generator for the sheriff’s office is on back order until February. He said there have been lots of weather events and other problems that have caused the delay.
The grant for the LED signs has been approved, and Cooper’s office is ready to order them.
