SCSO Celebrates Holiday Season
The Sistersville Community Service Organization will again sponsor the annual Christmas parade in Sistersville on Friday, Dec. 7, 7 p.m. “Let It Snow” has been selected as the theme. Tyler Consolidated High School’s award-winning marching band will lead the parade. Named as the “2018 Parade Marshal” is Eric Peters, Executive Director of the Tyler County Development Authority.
The SCSO encourages the community for its participation in the parade festivities, so the tradition continues.
Following the parade, Santa Claus will be available to meet all the children at the Gaslight Theater. Music will be provided.
For more information on the evening’s events, contact the SCSO’s Barbara Vincent at 304-652-2939 or Carmen Silliman at 304-652-2392.
Other events are scheduled for Friday evening, prior to the parade. Some downtown merchants and the Sistersville Museum will observe open hours. At 5:30 p.m., the public is invited to meet in front of the City Building for singing Christmas music. At 6 p.m., the lighting of the Christmas Tree will be completed by Mayor Bill Rice.
The SCSO thanks the Sistersville Planning Commission for the new downtown snowflake decorations. Also, the commission will be placing pine in the planters and decorating the parking meters.
On Saturday, Dec. 15, 7 p.m., a Christmas concert will be presented at the Gaslight Theater. For more information, contact Terry Wiley at 304-652-1707.
