TCSO, Sistersville PD Request ‘Shop With A Cop’ Help
SISTERSVILLE – Christmas is a time of joy and giving. In an effort to give back to the community, the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office will once again participate in the “Shop With A Cop” program this holiday season.
This unique opportunity allows deputies to share Christmas with children in Tyler County, while fostering positive interaction between law enforcement and the community. Ten students from A. I. Boreman Elementary School will be chosen for this magical shopping experience. Each child will be paired with a deputy and provided with $250 to spend on gifts for themselves and their immediate family members.
The success of this mission is dependent upon donations from generous community partners. While the goal is to raise $2,500, every $250 raised ensures another child can benefit from this program. The community’s support for this project is greatly appreciated.
Checks should be made payable to Tyler County Sheriff’s Office, with “Shop With A Cop” in the memo. Cash donations and Walmart Gift Cards will also be accepted, and can be dropped off at the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office during business hours.
Donations will be accepted until Friday, Dec. 7.
The Tyler County Sheriff’s Office thanks the public for its consideration of this worthy cause. “We hope to make this an annual event that is embraced by the community at-large,” the office noted.
Also, Sistersville Police Chief Rob Haught has also requested support for his department’s annual program. Any donation, large or small, is accepted. Please mail checks to: Sistersville Police Department, 200 Diamond St., Sistersville, WV 26175. Attn: Shop With A Cop. Or, donations can be dropped off at the Sistersville City Building.
