The Tyler County Family Resource Network hosted its Third Annual Back-to-School Fair at Sistersville Elementary School on Monday, Aug. 6. There were several businesses, organizations, and churches on hand to offer books, pens, pencils, backpacks, and any other school item a child could possibly need. The Tyler Consolidated High School Volleyball Team assisted in making sure kids knew where to go to receive the full benefits of the fair. Haircuts and free dental screenings were available for students as well. “The Bubble Man” Danny Westfall entertained students with an variety of bubble making gadgets. Several kids were walking around with painted faces from the help of some high school student volunteers. Volunteer Julie Bolin even had a stand setup where children could learn about planting a variety of plants and vegetables.

An estimated 325 students attended the Back to School Fair. FRN Director Katrina Byers stated, “I really need to thank Linda Liebold for helping me with the Back to School Fair and especially Krista DeVaughn who was willing to help with the problems that arose with the parking and was willing to help us in any way she could.

The Back to School Fair would not have been the success that it was without her help. The community is always willing to help out and I would like to thank them for their participation.”
