Missing Swimmer’s Body Recovered

According to Tyler County Office of Emergency Management officials, Tyler County Search and Rescue joined the West Virginia State Police and rescue services in trying to locate the body of a swimmer, who was reported missing Saturday afternoon. The swimmer went missing in the Ohio River, at the north end of Paden City. Due to darkness, the search was called off until the next morning.

According to Tyler County OEM, the body was located early Sunday morning and retrieved from the river. However, Tyler County OEM was unable to share anymore details at this time, as the matter is being investigated by the WVSP. According to the WVSP, Trooper Lowry is investigating the death and is still receiving information from the medical examiner. WVSP will release more details as they are available.
