Commission Slated to Host Tyler County Youth Camp July 25-27

By Staff | Jul 4, 2018

There will be a first-ever Tyler County Youth Camp July 25-27. This will be a day camp for the campers attending, meaning campers will be expected to arrive at the Tyler County 4-H campgrounds by 9 a.m. and be picked up by 8 p.m. each day. Parents are asked to sign their children in or out when dropping them off or picking them up each day. Registration forms will be due by July 13. The forms must be dropped off at the Tyler County Court House or mailed to P.O. Box 66 Middlebourne, WV 26169.

This camp will be free of charge. Campers who want to participate must be a Tyler County resident enrolled in Tyler County Schools between the ages of seven and 18. Campers who get their registrations forms turned in by the July 13 deadline are guaranteed a free t-shirt. Registration forms can be picked up at the Tyler County Courthouse, Lakeside Pizza, Blue Marathon, Witschey’s Galaxy, Bogg’s Pizza n’ Grill, Sistersville Pharmacy, Sistersville IGA, Phillips Drug, Main Street Quick Stop, Long Reach Credit Union, Tyler County Public Library, and Sistersville Public Library.

No food or drinks are to be brought to the camp as there will be plenty provided for campers and staff. Comfortable tennis shoes are required as there will be a great deal of activities and fun events happening during the three days. Campers are encouraged to bring an extra change of clothes each day just in case they get dirty. School dress codes will be mandated, meaning shorts and t-shirts are appropriate attire.

Some events include an Air Evac presentation, Oglebay petting zoo, tye dye t-shirts, soap making, Tyler County Office of Emergency Management Search and Rescue demonstration, sports activities, and water games.
