Local Girl To Participate In Guild Idol
Kiara Hughes, an eighth grade student at Tyler Consolidated Middle School, will participate in the May 19th Actors Guild Idol fundraising competition. The event is the first-ever for the Actors Guild of Parkersburg.
Hughes is 14-years-old and is from Marietta, Ohio. She is the daughter of Barry Hughes of Marietta, Ohio and Bridget Giovinazzo of Sistersville. Kiara has been a member of the school choir for five years and has been selected for the All-State Choir team four times. Her musical influences have been The Fray, Coldplay, and Stevie Nicks.
Music has been an escape for Kiara during difficult times, and she would like to someday and write and record music that could help others rise above obstacles in their lives.
Kiara’s favorite catchphrase is “Yea, buddy!”
Kiara is one of 10 finalists who will compete for $2,000 cash, a featured solo show at the 2018 Parkersburg Homecoming in August, and a four-hour studio recording session, compliments of Sweetsong Productions.
Folks can experience AG Idol through a VIP Package or General Admission. The VIP Package includes a private event from 5-7 p.m. at the Parkersburg Brewing Company at 707 Market Street. Limited seating is available. Folks can speak with the finalists before departing to across the street for reserved seating at the AG Idol Finals. Each $50 VIP ticket comes with 50 votes to use during the finals.
General Admission tickets are $25 each and come with 25 tickets to use during voting. Additional tickets for voting will be available for purchase during the entire Finals Event. Voter tallies and Judges Decisions will determine who will be crowned the first ever Actors Guild Idol.
