Senator Manchin Hosts Career Fair at Paden City
United States Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) hosted a career fair April 25 at Paden City High School. Although the senator was not present, due to his work in Washington, D.C., he ensured several of his representatives were on-hand to make sure the event was a success.
Students from Paden City, Tyler Consolidated, Magnolia, Hundred, and Valley high schools were given the opportunity to visit with the many businesses on site to receive advice for future career paths. The career options displayed were numerous, and the students appeared to show enthusiasm with those presenting their particular fields of business. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and research all of the possible options; they also left with informational materials to look over, in order to conduct more research on their own.
Students were filed in by schools throughout the day to keep the career fair from getting over crowded. The fair lasted from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m. and was deemed a great success by organizers. It was noted Senator Manchin chose Paden PCHS because he felt that it was the most centrally located of the five schools that attended.
Senator Manchin’s representative Mary Jo Guidi wants to thank all who were involved in making this first ever career fair at Paden City High School such a success.
