SES Book Fair Open To Public April 9
The Sistersville Elementary School Scholastic Book Fair will be held at the school and open to students April 3-6. This is a reading event that brings the books kids want to read right into the school. The fair offers a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level, and the students have the opportunity to visit the book fair and create their own “Wish List.” These wish lists can then be taken home and reviewed with parents/ guardians, who choose which books to purchase for their children.
One of the primary goals with hosting a book fair is to help build reading skills, along with developing a love of books.
This year, SES has decided to open the book fair to the public. On Monday, April 9, 4-7 p.m., the public is “Welcome” to stop by SES cafeteria to explore and purchase books. Visitors may purchase books for themselves, or they are encouraged to purchase a book to donate to the SES school library, or to a specific teacher’s classroom library.
A book may also be donated in “Honor” or “Memory” of someone. Special stickers will be available to place inside the front cover of a book. A purchaser may then write a person’s name on that sticker, in “Honor” or “Memory.”
Those unable to attend the book fair may visit an online store at www.scholastic.com/bf/sistersvillees and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click “Shop Now.” Or, monetary donations may be sent to Sistersville Elementary School ; 651 Sistersville Elementary School Road Sistersville, WV 26175 with checks made payable to Sistersville Elementary School PTSO with “book fair” in the memo line. SES will be happy to purchase books on a donor’s behalf and donate them to the school library for children to enjoy for many years to come.
