Knights Band members, staff, and alumni played again recently at Middlebourne United Methodist Church. The musicians accompanied the congregational singing along with the organ and also filled the church with seasonal Christmas music for the prelude, offertory and postlude.

Meanwhile, two Knights Band members were recently selected as West Virginia All-State musicians. After several months that included countless hours of practicing and preparation, Matthew Riddle and Savannah Ferrell achieved this remarkable accomplishment. Ferrell will play bass clarinet in the all-state band and Riddle was chosen to play tuba in the all-state orchestra. They will gather with the other members of these elite groups on March 8 and will perform on March 10 during the West Virginia Music Educator’s Association’s annual conference in Charleston. Ferrell is the daughter of Jeff and Cheryl Ferrell of Middlebourne, and Riddle is the son of Stephanie and George Riddle of Sistersville. Both members accomplished this feat as freshmen
