Kaytlyn Henthorn Selected for NYLF on Medicine
Local student Kaytlyn Henthorn has scored the opportunity of a lifetime, as she will head to Washington, D.C. this summer to participate in the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine. During the program, 16-year-old Henthorn, of Paden City, will be able to tour D.C. area hospitals.
The program includes engaging seminars and keynotes, medical simulation center visit, medical school visit, and interactive curriculum.
Henthorn is the daughter of Patty and William Garuccio of Paden City, W.Va., and Jason and Jennifer Henthorn of Clarington, Ohio.
Kaytlyn is a sophomore at Tyler Consolidated High School. She participates in the TCHS Marching Band, Project Pediatrics Club, and Spanish Club. Kaytlyn also serves with Children’s Church at LaZears Chapel United Methodist Church. She is currently employed by Boggs Pizza, in Middlebourne.
The cost of Kaytlyn’s trip – tuition and transportation – is approximately $4,000, and her first trip deposit is due in November.
Kaytlyn is currently in the process of planning a 60-day shoe fundraiser. The shoes Kaytlyn collects will help individuals in underprivileged countries.
In the meantime, Kaytlyn is also grateful for any monetary donations as well. Those interested in donating can contact 304-771-0771 or mail donations to 432 South 3rd Avenue, Paden City.
There will also be a donation drop-off box at Boggs Pizza.
