The Board of Education approved the following FFA request: Leon Ammons and Annie Erwin, TCHS Agricultural Education teachers and FFA advisors request permission for their students to participate in the following activities: District/WV Division of Forestry Practice Forestry Contest at the Tyler County 4-H Grounds on September 7, NW FFA Regional Softball Game at the Marshall County Fairgrounds on September 7, FFA Back to School Cookout with the Tyler FFA Alumni on September 10, WV FFA Career Development Events at WVU on September 13-14, West Virginia State Leadership Conference at Cedar Lakes on September 20-23, Participate in the Middle Island Harvest Festival on October 6, 7, and 8, Tyler FFA Ox Roast on October 15, NW Regional FFA Meeting and Tractor Driving Contest at Wetzel County 4-H Grounds on October 6 or 13, National FFA Leadership Conference and Convention in Louisville, KY on October 24-28, FFA Program Policy Meeting on November 3, Tyler FFA Big Coon Contest in November, Northwestern Regional Meeting at Tyler County Fairgrounds on December 12, Deliver fruit baskets to nursing home on December 14, NW Regional FFA Scholastic Contest at WVU-P on February 16, WV Small Farm Conference in Morgantown on February 22-24, Tyler County Ham & Bacon Show & Sale on March 8, State FFA Ham & Bacon Show & Sale in Charleston on March 11-13, WV Stockman’s Judging Contest & Grasslands at Jackson Mills on April 6, FFA Governing Body Meeting in April, WV State FFA Equine Judging in April, WV Envirothon in April, National Land and Range Judging Contest in Oklahoma City on April 26 May 5, Upper Ohio CD Land Judging Contest in May, Little Kanawha CD Land Judging Contest in May, Elk CD Land Judging Contest in May, WV State Career Development Events at WVU in May or June, NW Regional FFA Land Judging in June,

State Conservation Camp in June, State FFA Convention & Leadership Conference in July, State Forestry Camp in July, WV State FFA Dairy Judging Contest in August, Tyler County Fair in August, and West Virginia State Fair in August.

The following transfers were approved:

Beth Ann Baker requests permission for her children, Paden and Jaden Hatcher, to be released from Tyler County Schools to attend St. Marys High School for the 2017-18 school year.

Jasmine Kanz requests permission for her child, Trinity Kanz to attend Tyler Consolidated Middle School for the 2017-18 school year.

Kay Lucas requests permission for her children, Christopher Henderson and Kaylee Forrester to attend Tyler Consolidated High School for the 2017-18 school year.

Melissa Braham requests permission for her son, Coby Conner to attend Sistersville Elementary School for the 2017-18 school year.

Kristen Young requests permission for her daughter, Madison Young to attend Tyler Consolidated Middle School for the 2017-18 school year.

Lori and Tom Likens requests permission for their children, Monica, Megan, and Klohie Likens to attend Tyler County Schools for the 2017 – 2018 school year.

The board members recognized Substitute Bus Driver Greg Weekley’s resignation effective immediately.

The following Employments or Transfers and Rescissions were approved:

Employ Melissa LeeAnn Moore as Multi-Categorical Special Education Teacher at Sistersville Elementary School pending CBI results.

Employ Jeremy Fletcher as a substitute bus driver.

Employ Sam LeMasters, Ashley Glover, Jennifer Yeater, Tiffany Blatt, and Karissa Buck as substitute aides pending CBI results.

Employ Mamie Blatt and Ryan Dennis as substitute custodians pending CBI results.

Employ Cynthia Dennis as a substitute cook, pending CBI results.

Employ Rick Leach and Elizabeth Riggs as substitute teachers.
