Sink Hole on Park Avenue in Middlebourne
On Wednesday June 28th a hole was discovered in Park Avenue in Middlebourne. Upon closer examination the road bed had collapsed out of the street.
There was no sign of where the dirt and stone had disappeared.
The asphalt on top of the road was still holding but underneath there was a four foot by six foot hole some thirty inches deep. Mayor Charlie Delauder erected a barricade to prevent an accident from happening.
On Thursday the 29th, Mayor Charlie Delauder, David Wells and Brian Willey began the repair of the road.
Three by five stones were placed in the hole with a drain line in the bottom of the hole.
This was topped off with inch stone compacted by Mayor Charlie Delauder with the used roller that was purchased by the town in March.
