Mary Jo Guidi, representative of Senator Joe Manchin, gave a wonderful speech to the members of the Genesis Healthcare this past week for recognition of National Nursing Home Week. Guidi read the proclemation, “It is my privilege to welcome those celebrating National Nursing Home Week. The long-term care profession makes a positive impact on the lives of so many people and their families. From recreational and nutritional services, to therapy and support groups, countless physicians, nurses volunteers, and staff have greatly enhanced the quality of our West Virginia seniors in their care.

While we are honoring these individuals this week, please know that their commitment to their work is greatly appreciated every single day by the people they serve and by our entire state. Our seniors have worked hard to make our state and nation great, and it is our responsibility and priviledge to give back to them in any way we can. I know firsthand from my own family members how valuable their wisdom is, and how relevant their experiences still are in countless areas of our lives.

Again we appreciate our senior care providers and volunteers for all they accomplish every day. Please accept my best wishes. With warmest regards, Joe Manchin.”

The Tyler Consolidated Middle School Choir was also at Genesis Healthcare to sing for some of the seniors of Tyler County. You could see the smiles light up as these kids gave it their all and put on a wonderful performance for the seniors.
