County Commission Hosts Christmas Dinner
Tyler County Commission hosted its annual Christmas dinner recently.
Eric Vincent, Tyler Commission president, said more than 50 attended the covered-dish meal Dec. 10 at the Middlebourne Methodist Church. All courthouse employees among other people associated with the county government were invited to attend.
“It was a very good meal,” Vincent said. “We do this every year a fresh cooked meal.
Vincent said the dinner did not come from county tax dollars, but was provided by those folks who brought food to the meal.
Turkey, ham, an assortment of side dishes and deserts were served.
“I did enjoy the meal very nice,” said Teresa Hamiton, Tyler County clerk.
Hamilton said next year, she’d like to see some entertainment. But this year, food was the tie that binds.
“There was tons of food to eat. No one went home hungry,” Hamilton said.
