A new residential housing community is under construction in Sistersville.

The Woda Group, Inc., a regional housing developer, seeks to build 20 two-bedroom townhomes and four three-bedroom townhomes in a residential community known as McCormick Greene.

“The Ohio Valley is home, so we chose Sistersville because we know the area and the market,” said Thomas S. Simons, senior vice president for The Woda Group, of Westerville, Ohio.

Located along Wood Street, Simons said the homes will include an array of modern amenities for families including energy star appliances among other energy-saving amenities. Simons said the project began construction in October and

should be finished in the Spring.

McCormick Greene will include a community space for on-site management and for the residents use.

“Being able to provide affordable family housing in a wonderful community like Sistersville is extremely exciting for our company,” Simons said in a press release issued last week.

“McCormick Greene will be a new residential family community that everyone will be proud to call home.”

The company has residential communities in many areas of the state including Morgantown, Elkins, Wheeling, Romney, Short Gap, Keyser, Parkersburg to name a few, according to Woda Group’s website.

The company and its affiliates are experienced developers, general contractors, and property managers specializing in the design, construction and management of affordable multifamily apartments, senior communities, and single-family homes.

The company has developed and currently manages over 7,500 units in many states, according to the company’s website.
