Tyler County Schools is investigating an incident of vandalism.

Superintendent Robin Daquilante confirmed that someone spray painted various spots Oct. 1 at the Tyler Consolidated High School campus. The vandalism was still visible before Friday night’s matchup between the Silver Knights and their rival, the River High School Pilots.

Daquilante said someone spray painted the marching band’s trailer, the asphalt in the lower parking lot and the signage by the school’s walking trail.

“Our investigation into this incident is ongoing,” she said.

Daquilante described the property damage as minimal. She said the marks will be cleaned as soon as possible.
