Board of Education Congratulates Bus Operators
Four county bus operators appeared before the Tyler County Board of Education at its regular scheduled meeting on Monday, June 29, at the Tyler County Board office in Middlebourne.
The bus operators reported on their recent experience at the 2015 WV State Bus Rodeo held in Clarksburg. Bus operators Herb Efaw, Elizabeth Al-Janaby, Martin Parrish and Eddie Haught thanked the board for their sponsorship and said without their monetary support it wouldn’t have been possible. Haught had won second place in his division and received a plague and a monetary award. The group are making plans to try and hold a state event at Tyler Consolidated High School in the future.
Board members offered their congratulations to the group and thanked them for their willingness to participate.
The board approved the 2015 Tyler Consolidated High School Golf schedule.
Requests approved: Joe Griffin, 1.TCMS/TCHS golf coach was approved to allow any player who may want to accompany him or coach Tucker to the rules clinic. 2.Approved for Tracy Summers, Kelli Potoczny, Jill LeMasters, David Tucker and Joe Griffin to drive athletes to matches. All are board employees. 3. Approved to take team members for a practice round at the LKC, OVAC and Regional tournament locations. 4. Approved to hold an end of season dinner at either a coach or player’s home.
Denise Neff, was approved for her children, Aubrey Neff and Issac Neff to be released from Tyler County Schools for the 2015-16 school year, in order to attend Wetzel County schools.
Kelly Schultheis approved for her son, Daulton Schultheis, to cross county lines in order to attend Tyler County Schools for the 2015-16 school year, pending approval from Ritchie County Board of Education.
Barbara Vincent approved to use the Sistersville Elementary School cafeteria, gym, music room and restrooms to hold the WV Oil and Gas Festival Pageant on July 11, 2015.
Resignations approved: Anita Prunty, first grade teacher, A.I. Boreman Elementary School, effective July 1, 2015.
Robert Allen, vocational agriculture teacher, Tyler Consolidated High School, effective June 30, 2015.
Employments and transfers approved: Stephanie Suter, approved as transfer , to fifth grade teacher at Sistersville, Elementary School, effective immediately.
Sherri Davis, approved to transfer from cook 11 at Tyler Consolidated Middle and High Schools to cook 11 at A.I. Boreman Elementary School, effective July 1. 2015.
Bob West approved for employment as head boy’s basketball coach at Tyler Consolidated Middle School, effective immediately.
Rob Jones , 111, approved as assistant boy’s basketball coach at Tyler Consolidated Middle School, effective immediately.
Tim Patterson, Martin Parrish, Charles Young, Jake Roberts, and Stephen Eastham approved as summer painters, countywide, effective immediately.
Approved to employ Liza George, Stacy Wade, and Robert Lasure as painters pending completion of training and passing exam.

10. Policy: BG Board member code of ethics
11. Policy: BH Board member conflict of interest
12. Policy: BI Board officers
13. Policy: BJ Legal counsel for the board of education
14. Policy: JC School enrollment requirements
15. Policy: JD Immunizations and birth certificate
16. Policy: JAJ Student automobile use
The board also set a two week comment period for Tyler County Policy: GAT Safety.
The next regular meeting of the board of education will be held on July 6, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the Tyler County Board of Education Office located on Dodd Street in Middlebourne.
