The fatal shooting that occured in Paden City on Monday is still under investigation.

State Police on Monday arrested Jessica Quinn of Paden City following a shooting that left a man dead on her front porch. According to Sargent Collins of the Paden City Detachment of the State Police, Jessica Dawn Quinn is being held on the charge of murder. No bond has yet been set and the investigation is still ongoing. Bond will most likely be established once she appears in court on the charges.

Quinn, who lives in the 100 block of South Third Avenue, told police a man, who has not yet been identified, came onto her porch shortly after 6 p.m. and entered her home through the back door. She told police that an unidentified man had been stalking her, and when the victim entered her home, she fired a .45-caliber handgun, striking him in the chest and killing him.

Quinn’s two small children were inside the residence when the shooting took place. She was later arrested by state troopers, and police reportedly are treating the case as a murder.

A call to the State Police Paden City detachment was not immediately returned late on Monday.

As of 10 p.m. Monday, South Third Avenue remained closed, with a crime scene unit expected to arrive at some point today.

South Third Avenue is a residential area one block off W.Va. 2 in Paden City, about a half-block from the city’s police station. Nearby residents expressed concern over the shooting and the fact it happened during daylight hours.
