Tyler students attend leadership

The Future Business Leaders of America chapter at Tyler Consolidated High School participated at the West Virginia FBLA State Leadership Conference April 20-21 in Charleston, WV. Twenty-seven students competed in the conference which is an impressive 100% club participation; twenty-three students attended the event. Nine students qualified to compete at the 2015 FBLA National Leadership Conference which will be held June 29 through July 2 in Chicago, IL. Those members qualifying to attend the national conference are: Megan Wilson, 1st place, Business Procedures; Nathan Eddy, 1st place, Word Processing and 3rd place Computer Applications; Rosana Smith, Julianna Miller, and Belle Camerlin, 1st place, Hospitality Management; Rosana Smith, 1st place, Introduction to Business; Belle Camerlin, 2nd place, Introduction to Business Communication, Sydney Yoho, 2nd place Business Communications and 2nd place Electronic Career Portfolio; Storm Smith, 2nd place, Public Speaking 1, Tiffany Stevens and Olivia Rudder, 3rd place, Desktop Publishing, and Julianna Miller, 4th place Introduction to Business.

Other members who deserve recognition for placing in the top ten at the state conference are: Bryanna Munoz, 4th place, Job Interview; Brooklyn Pittman and Megan Miller, 4th place, Desktop Publishing; Alexis Furbee, 4th place, Public Speaking I and 5th place, Introduction to Business Communication; Alex Booher, 5th place, Job Interview; Kellsi Anderson, 6th place, Digital Design and Promotion; Sierra Mace, 6th place, Economics; Nathan Kemp, Lillian Orr, and Lacey Seckman, 6th place, Sports and Entertainment Management; Kerstyn Cline and Ryan Hubbard, 7th place, Sports and Entertainment Management; Breanna Yeater, 7th Place, Economics; Lillian Orr, 9th place, Cyber Security, Shayla Griffey, 10th place, Introduction to Business; and Megan Miller, 10th place, Business Math.
