Annual ‘Hooked on Fishing’ program scheduled for May
A popular annual youth program which provides fun, entertainment and a learning scenario in a safe environment for both youth and adults will be held once again in Tyler County this year. The Tyler Rod and Gun Club, along with the Law Enforcement Section of the WV Division of Natural Resources, has team up once again to host the 15th annual “Kids Fishing Day”.
This event will be held on May 2 at Conaway Lake in Tyler County with the theme of the day being, “Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs”.
This will be a special day for youngsters ages one to 15 to become more aware of the enjoyment of fishing and the natural resources available in Tyler County. A program will be held discussing several issues of how drugs can, and will, affect every aspect of a persons life.
During the event, food will be available for the participants and donated prizes will be awarded.
The goal of this “Kids Fishing Day” is to make the event enjoyable and exciting for the participants. Any individual or business that would like to donate to this worthwhile program can do so by contacting the Tyler Rod and Gun Club at 155 Shiloh Road, Friendly, WV 26146.
Without the gracious support of the Tyler County community, programs such as this would not be available to the youth of the county.
