Relay kickoff set
Relay For Life of Tyler County has adopted a Wild West theme for 2015, as participants of this charitable endeavor are seeking to “Give Cancer the Boot!” With that goal in mind, the Relay Kick-off will be held in the library of Tyler Consolidated High School on Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 6-8 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to attend, including team captains, team members, survivors, caregivers, friends, and neighbors. While there you can register a team, play a parlor game for prizes, and eat some delicious grub. Become a volunteer by either joining or forming your own group and planning a Relay event or fund raiser of your own. They are eager to hear all of your ideas for entertainment, activities, team activities, and more.
There will also be different “corrals” to visit, with each corral dedicated to a specific area of Relay focus. Those areas consist of Luminaria, Cancer Survivor, Registration, Website/Online, and Fund raising.
Team captains will be visiting each of these corrals for a few minutes to get updated forms, fundraising ideas for their teams, and event information. It is also a great opportunity for you to register a team, register as a cancer survivor, learn about how local donations to Relay help locally and across the world, and discover more about Relay and the American Cancer Society.
If you cannot make it to the Relay Kick-off but would like to discover the many ways to participate, please contact Relay For Life Specialist Carmen Hathaway by calling 304-422-1472 or emailing carmen.hathaway@ cancer.org. Saddle up and come see what’s happening with Relay For Life this year!
