Fire destroys mobile home

By Staff | Jan 21, 2015

Local volunteer fire departments responded around noon on Jan. 13 to a fully involved structure fire on Ten Mile Road.

By 12:30 p.m. the fire was out but there was nothing left of the mobile home. Fire officials say the cause of the blaze was a wood stove.

The Middlebourne VFD was first on scene, assisted by the Paden City, Sistersville, and Shirley VFDs.

The trailer housed two residents who are related to the land owners, Ernie and Terri Yost.

In an effort to help the residents with their loss, the American Red Cross donated vouchers.

The residents are currently residing with family members.
