Alumni make changes in weekend schedule
The schedule for the upcoming Paden City Alumni Weekend, July 3-5, has been changed, according to Alumni officials.
The parade will now be held on Saturday instead of Thursday.
On Thursday, the museum will be open from 1-4 p.m. Then the memorial service will be held at Paden City High School at 6:30 p.m., followed by an “Alumni Welcome” at nearby Chen’s Garden.
The museum will be open again on Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In the PCHS gymnasium the alumni volleyball game will be served at 5 p.m., followed by the alumni basketball game tipping off at 6 p.m.
Two alumni classes will be having their parties that night: Class of 1959 at the Senior Center, 5 p.m.; and Class of 1974 at Chen’s Garden ($6 buffet), 7 p.m.
The big day, of course, will be Saturday. The golf tournament will tee-off set at 8 a.m. The Class of 1994 will get an early start with a class party at 10 a.m. in Paden City Park.
The museum will be open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The parade will line up at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church at 12:30 p.m. and step-off at 1 p.m.
After the parade Home Plate Bistro will be having a special welcome alumni event. The Distinguished Alumni Association Reception at PCHS will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the Green and White Banquet set for 6 p.m. at the PCHS multi-purpose building.
Tickets for all events may be purchased at WesBanco in Paden City until July 3 or by calling Shauna Williams Yoho at 304-337-4303 or Keith Van Camp at 304-337-2281 or 304-337-8897. Also, tickets will be available at the door.
Alumni officers for this year are President, Shauna Williams Yoho, Class of 1975; Vice-President, Keith Van Camp, Class of 1974; Treasurer, Vicki Holmes Cain, Class of 1975; and Secretary, Brittany Henry Darnell, Class of 2003.
