Valedictorian Chelsea Kehrer and Ssalutatorian Caroline Bantug

The Tyler Consolidated High School Class of 2014 will receive their diplomas Thursday during commencement exercises in the TCHS gymnasium, starting at 7 p.m. Leading the class will be Valedictorian Chelsea Kehrer and Salutatorian Caroline Bantug.

The daughter of Robert Kehrer and Denise Swisher, Chelsea is a member of the National Honor Society and is recognized in the Top 10 Percent Hall of Fame. She is an active member in the SADD, anti-bullying, and Spanish clubs. She also has worked at Subway for over two years. in the fall Chelsea plans to attend Marietta College, to which she has received a scholarship for full tuition. While in her years at Marietta, she will double major in Spanish and Political Science with a minor in Leadership.

The daughter of Martha and Rogelio Bantug of Sistersville, Caroline is a National Merit finalist. She has been Class President for two years and is currently the Student Body President. She is a four-year member of the Varsity Girls Track team and the drum-line of the TCHS Marching Band, where she is the drum captain. Caroline is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Technology Student Association, and will representing her chapter at the TSA National Convention this summer. Caroline is the current Miss Knight of Tyler Consolidated and will be competing in the Queen of Queens competition this July. Caroline will be attending Oklahoma University this fall and will be pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering.
