The West Virginia Division of Highways advises that effective Jan. 5, state Route 2, approximately 100 yards north of Fish Creek Road, will be closed to all traffic. This closure will be between the hours of 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and is necessary to allow AEP to install a conveyor belt over the roadway.

The signed detour will be Ohio State Route 7, both northbound and southbound. Motorists should connect to Ohio State Route 7 using the Korean War Veteran’s Memorial Bridge (New Martinsville Bridge) or the Arch A. Moore Jr. Bridge (Moundsville Bridge).

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for the detour.
