Gaslight Theater plans a charitable 2014

By Staff | Dec 24, 2013

Launching off its recent charitable successes, the Gaslight Theater in Sistersville will be hosting a monthly entertainment series beginning in March 2014. The goal of each event is to welcome unique and interesting acts, draw spectators in from Tyler County and beyond, and raise funds for the Sistersville General Hospital Foundation and the Paden City Foundation.

Gaslight Theater owner Terry Wiley and Paden City resident Cork Bowen are working together for this purpose.

“Our goal is to get as many people to attend as we can and do it on a regular basis,” said Bowen.

He spoke of Nick Fiasco, one of the performers they have scheduled. Fiasco, described as a voice of “class, romance, and swing”, performs hits from: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett, Louis Prima, Nat King Cole, Engelbert Humperdink and more.

“Someone with his talent might be able to entice a lot of folks to come and buy a ticket,” said Bowen.

The charities and foundations hoping to benefit from these shows will be selling tickets. Tickets will also be made available in the Farmer’s Harvest along Charles Street in Sistersville. During these events, the foundations will also provide baskets for raffles.

Wiley said that they are looking into methods to fund even bigger events not as common in a small town setting. For more information, contact Terry Wiley at 304-652-1707.
