Not only has Journey Hospice been serving patients and families of Tyler, Wetzel, and Pleasants counties since 1991, but for 16 years now its volunteers have carried out the Journey Hospice Tree Ornament Sale, which generates funding for local patients and families.

Those who procure an ornament with a minimum $10 donation will write down the name of a loved one, either on a tag marked “In Honor of” or “In Memory of”. Ornaments will then hang on Journey Hospice trees throughout the area during the holiday season and be mailed back to the owners in January.

This year there are five locations with trees where the ornaments will hang. Tree captains for the project are: Donna Aiken and Mary Thomas, 304-758-4552 (Union Bank of Middlebourne); Jane Snyder, 740-483-2414 (Wetzel County Hospital); Rae Ellen Stuart and Francine Justice, 304-455-2382 (Dos Hermanos in New Martinsville); Alma Barnard, 304-652-2146, and Cindy Lohri, 304-652-6741(Sistersville Hospital); and Fran Caldwell, 304-455-5092 (Quinet’s Court Restaurant in New Martinsville). Journey Hospice will also let you take your ornament home if you wish to hang it on your own tree this holiday season.
