Boggs to host a free Thanksgiving feast
This Thursday the family owned and operated Boggs Pizza & Grill, located along Main Street in Middlebourne, will continue its tradition of giving by opening its doors to the community for a free Thanksgiving Dinner.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., they will be dishing up traditional Thanksgiving foods. Items served will include turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, noodles, corn, green beans, coleslaw, rolls and homemade desserts.
The Boggs Family would like to note that the focus of this dinner is not simply to feed those in need. They realize that not everybody has a place to celebrate the holiday, or family in the area to celebrate it with, so anybody who is looking for a place to share great food and company is welcome to attend.
Last year was the first year that Boggs Pizza & Grill hosted the free Thanksgiving Dinner, and they served more than 100 people. They are hoping that this year’s interest is even greater.
“We’re hoping for a larger turnout than last year, and we hope that you will join us for Thanksgiving Dinner,” said Kim Boggs.
Considering that some people cannot make it out of their homes, the restaurant is willing to deliver to those who live within 10 minutes of Middlebourne. Those who would like to set up a delivery can contact Boggs Pizza & Grill by calling 304-758-0554.
Individuals and churches have donated food for this cause. Any surplus food will go to local food banks.
As well as owners Rodney Boggs, Kim Boggs, Matt Boggs, and Betsy Boggs, some of the regular staff will be volunteering their time for the cause.
