Health Officer Dr. T.L. Gilligan is announcing that Immunizations, Family Planning, and BCCSP clinics will be held at the Wetzel-Tyler Health Department during the month of November.

The following immunizations will be offered free or at a low cost rate through the Vaccine for Children’s Program: Diptheria, Whooping Cough, Tetanus and Polio two months through five years of age. Measles, German Measles, and Mumps protection to children between the ages of 12 months to 18 years. Haemophilus B Conjugate vaccine (HIB) to children between the ages of two months and five years. Varicella (Chickenpox) vaccine is offered between the ages of 12 months and 18 years of age and Hepatitis B vaccine for children from two months up to and including 18 years of age. Prevnar Pneumococcal vaccine is offered at ages two months to five years of age. Menactra vaccine, Tetanus, Diptheria, and Pertussis (Tdap) is offered for ages 11-18 years of age. The new HPV (Gardisil) is also available for protection against cervical cancer for females ages 11-18 and genital warts for males age nine through 18 years. For information call 304-337-2001.

Clinics will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Nov. 6, 13, 20, and 27. (Please call ahead in case of unavoidable changes.)

Blood pressure clinics will be held by the Wetzel-Tyler Health Department during the month of November on Mondays from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., with the exception of Nov. 14, Veterans Day.

Breast and cervical cancer screening program: For ladies 25 through 64 years of age who require a mammogram and/or pap smear. Income and other criteria guidelines are observed. Clinic by appointment only. For more information, call the health department at 304-337-2001.

Family planning clinics: For females of child bearing age requiring comprehensive medical exams, pregnancy tests, or contraceptive supplies at little or no cost to the patient. Eligibility requirements do apply. For an appointment or more information, please call 304-337-2001.

Flu shots will be administered every Wednesday in November from 9-11 a.m.
