By Staff | Oct 30, 2013

Middlebourne EMS Unit #1’s new ambulance will be on display at the Middlebourne Fire Department from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 6.

Middlebourne EMS Unit #1 is holding an Open House to celebrate the recent arrival of their new ambulance. It will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6th at the squad building located directly behind the Middlebourne Fire Department on Main Street. Everyone is welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served and photos will be taken at the event. “This is a time to say thank you to those who have donated either their time or money to the ambulance fund project,” said Katy Wells, Chief of Operations and Paramedic.

Generous donations have been received from H.G. Energy (Diane Bosley, Manager) of Parkersburg, the Community Foundation of the Ohio Valley (Stealey Green Foundation), and long time local residents Mrs. Sadie Weekley, Mr. and Mrs. Donald K. Baker and Mrs. Janice Ferrell. An additional anonymous donation has also been received. Delegate Roger Romine has been helping to spread the word about the need for a new ambulance for Middlebourne’s squad. Donations will continue to be accepted towards this fund.

The Middlebourne squad has been serving the area since 1973. It responds to approximately 400 calls annually for medical assistance.

People interested in becoming involved with the squad as a driver and/or EMT should stop by for information.
