Sistersville agenda includes mayor resignation and appointment

The City of Sistersville has posted the agenda for their regular council meeting to be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, at the Sistersville Fire Hall, 121 Maple Lane.

The agenda includes items for the resignation of Mayor Dave Fox, nominations for mayor, appointment of mayor, and swearing in of a new mayor.

Prior to those items is the public forum which includes the following notation: “City Council meetings are conducted in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order Newly Revised and City Council Rules of Procedure. You may speak after being recognized by the acting mayor during our Public Forum. You must be present 10 minutes prior to the meeting and fill out a request to speak form. You will have 30 seconds for one comment. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated and allow us to get on with the business as stated on this agenda. For any questions or concerns please call the City Clerk’s office at 304-652-6163.”

The agenda also includes two personnel items: “rescinding of raise” and “hire Rob Haught as full-time police officer”.

Also scheduled is the second reading of an ordinance to delete in its entirety, part 13 of the codified ordinances of the City of Sistersville entitled “Planning and Zoning” adopted 11-13-2006 for the purpose of repealing zoning regulations within the City of Sistersville.

The agenda also includes “Authorizing resolution” and “Tim Meeks- drawdown for Hanford City Sewer Project”. Regular agenda items of Pledge of Allegiance, reading and approval of minutes, reports of committees, and adjournment round out the slated actions.
